Cornick and Morris engineers increase client productivity with cost saving solution

A leading manufacturer and supplier of industrial air handling units & long standing Cornick and Morris Client uses PVC extruded angular section to produce frameworks for air handling units, dampers and ducting.

The HVAC manufacturer required an alternative method for joining the corners of the PVC extruded sections, used to produce the framework for all air handling units, dampers and ducting.

The method they were using involved cutting mitre shapes with a chop saw and using adhesive to bond the corners together – a highly skilled operation that was both costly and time consuming.

Using a raw idea, Cornick and Morris engineers designed, tooled and developed a range of three way and four way corner connectors that could be driven into a square cut end of the extrusion – saving 30,000 individual mitre and glue operations per annum.
